BIOGRAPHY

Caitlin received her BFA from the Alberta College of Art + Design (2007) and is currently completing her MFA from Concordia University (2015). Her work is included in the upcoming group exhibition Monstrous? at dc3 Art Projects (Edmonton, AB) and has exhibited at La Centrale (Montreal, QC) and Truck Gallery (Calgary, AB). Her video and animation works have been screened a GIRAF (Calgary, AB), Cinema Excentris (Montreal, QC), and Prairie Tales and she has participated in residencies at the National Film Board (Montreal, QC), Struts Gallery (Sackville, NB), and Est-Nord-Est (St. Jean-Port-Joli, QC).

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

While at her CAAF residency, Caitlin will be sewing a series of western-inspired costumes from a collection of embroidered characters and figures. Referencing the rejuvenating properties of gifs, Caitlin has taken to animating her embroidered images to produce looping cycles of fabricated motions.
