BIOGRAPHY
Jesse Stilwell was born in Montreal, Quebec. He is a
expert in colour theory and optical art. He received his BFA with
distinction from the painting program at the Alberta College of Art +
Design in 2012. He was a nominee for the 2012 BMO painting award. He has
shown his artwork at the Marrion Nicoll Gallery, Truck Gallery, Avalanche
Gallery, Haight Gallery, The Art Gallery of Calgary, DNA art space Toronto,
and Norman Felix Gallery in Toronto. He is currently represented by Gray
Contemporary in Houston, Texas. Stilwell’s paintings inhibit a variety of
private collections throughout Canada. Articles about his artistic practice
have appeared in Blend, FFWD and Beatroute magazines. His current studio
practice is based in Calgary Alberta.
