Endowments

Endowments

Since 1957, several noMarion-Nicollted artists and friends of the arts have made significant bequests to CAAF and the visual arts community. The Calgary Foundation manages these funds and uses the annual interest generated by the funds to support the visual arts locally in various ways, according to the stated intent of the donors. Currently, the main uses for this money are the support of the CAAF artists residency program and purchases of artworks for public art collections. The Calgary Allied Arts Foundation is the beneficiary of endowment funds of more than a quarter million dollars. This legacy has been made possible through the generosity of many Calgarians, including H.B. Hill (1957), Wes Irwin (1978), Douglas Motter (1994), and Jim & Marion Nicoll (1986), all practicing artists.
