Nina Morris

During her residency Nina Morris will be creating a body of work that fuses together the practices of abstract mixed media sculpture and two-dimensional work involving embroidery, sewing, and rug-hooking. She will be using everyday materials such as onion bags and bubble wrap, combined with more traditional art materials such as plaster, cloth, wood, and wire. Nina’s work challenges the concept of preconceived notions about the mundane, and the unnecessary imposition of forms upon our collective and conflicting realities, saying more about the observers than the observed.
