Bosnian born, Calgary based Darija Radakovic’s work is seemingly minimal. But this is a trick. The artist takes mass produced IKEA frames and transforms them into visual puzzles. With an almost Escher-like playfulness, Darija uses minimal colour and hard edge lines to trick the eye. With only line and a limited palette, Darija is able to create an endless number of combinations that can fit together to create larger, more complex installations.

Darija is represented by Herringer Kiss Gallery.
