Insensitive

Gallery 505 is a Window Gallery located in the lobby of 505 – 8th Ave SW

Insensitive was created during Mika’s residency with CAAF this spring. It is based on a practice in delicateness of hand, and of preciousness (or lack thereof) in film photography. Though Mika typically works in immersive bright colour, this work is an exercise in meditation and sketching for future sculpture projects through texture and movement.

Mika is based out of Treaty 6 Territory, “Edmonton,” where they practice communal living, gardening, drums and guitar, pottery, and a commitment to creativity and love. Mika received their MFA from the Art Academy of Trondheim, Norway in 2019.
